Our policies are reviewed and updated in line with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, which came into force in September 2008 and was streamlined and updated in 2021.
Our Policy File is always available to be read at the playgroup, or you may browse or download.
Each child and adult will be respected and his/her individuality and potential recognised, valued and nurtured.
The Playgroup aims to have regard to the "Special educational needs and disability code of practice: 0 to 25 years (2014)" and to provide a welcome, and appropriate opportunities.
Louise Hawthorn is the Group's Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO).
The safety of the children is paramount and whilst we are committed to confidentiality it is our duty, in all cases, as a registered sessional day care provider, to notify Surrey County Council Social Services of any suspicions of abuse or non-accidental injury. Please see our policy document for further information.
Susie Morris is the group's Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL);
Natalie Apthorp is her deputy.
Discipline is achieved by praising desired behaviour, verbal reprimand and one to one support, failing that "time out" is used. No child is humiliated and no child is "naughty", only the action he/she has taken is unacceptable.
Louise Hawthorn is the behaviour management officer.
We believe that most concerns and complaints can be dealt with at an early stage. We also believe that it is in the best interests of the playgroup and the parents that any matters raised should be taken seriously and dealt with fairly and in a way that respects confidentiality. Please raise any concerns with Louise Hawthorn or consult our complaints policy document.
