Laleham Church Playgroup Team
Experience
Our dedicated childcare team features nine 'Aunties', all of whom are mums. Eight of our team members hold a Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education, and everyone is certified in Paediatric First Aid and 'Safeguarding Children', with these qualifications regularly updated to ensure the best care for our children.
Staffing
Our childcare team maintains a carefully balanced ratio of at least 1 member of staff to 4 children for those under three years old, and 1:8 for children over three. Each child within our early years education program is assigned a dedicated member of playgroup staff to be their key person.
Inspection
In June 2022, Ofsted inspected our playgroup, and the evaluation of our care and early years education was judged to be Good. We encourage you to check our notice board for a copy of the report. With over 20 years of experience in early years education, I am passionate about creating nurturing environments where children can thrive. I previously owned and managed my own playgroup, fostering a skilled childcare team, before moving into early years within schools, which has provided me with a wealth of experience in leading and supporting high-quality childcare settings.

I’m passionate about early years education and helping children become 'school ready' by using stories, songs, and music to enhance their learning. Over my years in childcare, I’ve worked in a variety of nurseries and had the pleasure of being part of a childcare team while working abroad for two summer seasons, one in Spain and another in Greece, as a children’s representative for a holiday company. Additionally, I have experience as a private nanny and worked as a childminder when my children were young. I joined the Laleham Church playgroup, where I served as 1:1 SEN support and then became a permanent member of the playgroup staff. I absolutely love working with children in early years education, watching them grow and develop.

I volunteered at St. Peter's Nursery from 2011, during my youngest daughter's final year there. I gained my Children and Young People's Workforce Diploma Level 3 in 2012 and began working full-time with the childcare team at the Nursery. At St. Peter's, I enjoyed producing their Summer and Christmas musical shows, and served as their Safe

All my children have attended this Playgroup, where I later joined the dedicated childcare team. When my youngest child started school, I returned to work in Early Years

I bring 25 years of experience in Occupational Therapy to the Childcare Team. Since 2016, I have been a part of the Laleham Church Playgroup staff, initially stepping in to provide 1:1 special needs support and now fully integrated into Early Years Education.
